Hollywood is coming to Lakeland…

On May 7, 2011 we will bring a VIP Red Carpet Hollywood movie premier of “Lifted” to the Polk Theatre in Lakeland, Florida to benefit the Jaylens Challenge Foundation. The lead cast will fly in from Hollywood to attend this event for a special VIP meet and greet for guests. “Lifted” will not release publicly until late 2011.

This movie is being supported by the National Veterans Foundation, Stars & Stripes Foundation, and several branches of the Armed Forces.

From the time of arrival to the event, guests will feel like royalty. Your feet will immediately descend upon the red carpet where there will be a photo opportunity with the celebrities in attendance. Multiple Local and National media will be on sight.

Upon completion of the premier, the lead cast will perform live on stage, songs from the movie. The third segment of the event will be a private, intimate, meet and greet reception for VIP guests and celebrities on the 2nd level of the theatre with hors d’oeuvres, chocolate fountains, and beverages.

The sponsors of the event will cover the operating and organizing costs for the movie premier with all ticket sales to benefit the Jaylens Challenge Foundation.

Jaylens Challenge Foundation, Inc. is a local non-profit foundation that promotes awareness to school children regarding anti-bullying. Jaylen’s Challenge has been featured on: CNN, Bay News 9, Fox 13, NBC, “The American Spirit” by CBS National news with Katie Couric, and also featured in a documentary for The Discovery Channel called “Tourette’s Uncovered”.

School aged children are in despair over bullying. There are many local schools that are in desperate need of help but do not have the funding to pay for the materials needed to educate against bullying. Our fundraising efforts will help to reach more emotional and suicidal students in your schools.

SYNOPSIS

Lifted is the story of a young boy from the South who takes part in a singing competition in the hopes of escaping from a personal world that is falling apart. But it is more than that: the film is an inspiring and hopeful chronicle of real issues now facing millions of young American families.

Henry, a middle school student in Alabama, played by the teenage Uriah Shelton, finds refuge in music from the challenges of his surroundings: a drug addicted mother, a Reservist father recalled to active service in Afghanistan, the financial stress of a Reservist’s pay, a racist, redneck grandfather, and bullying schoolmates. Shot in an iconic American South by director Lexi Alexander, the film showcases Shelton’s remarkable talent as an actor, but even more impressively as a singer, especially in the amazing rap duets with his father.

A surprising plot twist sends us off in a deeply moving new direction, and the final moments of the film add a depth and breadth of meaning that audiences will find additionally fulfilling. The film has been endorsed by various Military and Veterans organizations. Fans of “American Idol” and anyone who enjoyed The Blind Side will be touched by Lifted.
